From 1995 – 2001 Pete worked for Bill Ullinger at Redgate wines as Marketing Manager. In 2002 he moved to Selwyn Wines to take up a role as Sales Manager. Selwyn Wines was the set up as a bulk wine-trading platform for the publicly listed company Evans & Tate. He was there for 5 years until over supply issues put Selwyn in to receivership.

Following Selwyn Pete started up Winescape. The idea was to continue to broker and trade wine while the kids were young with a view to eventually securing a full time position somewhere else in the wine industry. Over time it was clear there were some fundamental shortcomings in how the commodities of bulk wine, fruit & clean skins were traded which has lead to the development of Winescape in its present form.

Pete’s role is now to facilitate the overall running of Winescape and continue to make the systems easier to use so the open market runs as efficiently as possible.

Greg has worked 10 years in Relief Hotel Management with CUB throughout Australia. He spent 6 years with Metcash in the Wholesale Liquor & Foodservice, 5 years as the National Sales Manager for the Irymple Group (Wine/Grape Conc & Citrus Concentrates) and 8 years as Commercial Trading Manager for Andrew Peace Wines.

Greg currently owns and runs Sunraysia Cellar Door in Mildura and is assisting to establish Winescape in the Eastern States market. Winescape is very lucky to be able to draw on Greg’s extensive experience.

Simon’s career as Winemaker and manager of wine businesses extends over 35 years including long stints in chief winemaking positions with Yalumba and Cellarmasters. In 2004 Simon moved to establish the Sorby Adams brand which has a small but well established niche in the Chinese market. Sorby Adams is also distributed in Australia out of Simon’s cellar door in Angaston.

Lucky for us Simon is always looking for a new challenge and has seen the potential of Winescape to deliver positive results to our clients.

Ryan Gibbs – Contract Admin Fruit

Between 1999 and 2001 Ryan studied Viticulture and Winemaking at Curtin University in WA. Ryan has been working as a viticulturist for the past 12 years. For seven years he worked under colleague Phil Gumbrell at Geographe Viticulture Consultants. Five years ago Ryan bought Phil out and is know the sole owner of the business.

Ryan also owns and runs his family’s property in Western Australia’s Ferguson Valley. The property runs beef and has a 30-hectare vineyard. Ryan’s role with Winescape is to act as a Broker for our fruit business.

Suzi has been involved in the wine and liquor industry for the past 8 years with extensive experience in all administration aspects of the business. She was the general Manager at Oaks Liquor in Leederville, WA from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011 she moved down to the Margaret River region and after taking a year off to have a child she went back to work as Administration Manager for Aravina Estate. Following a quick stint with Swings and Roundabouts Suzi has landed with Winescape in the last week of February.

As the Market Manager Suzi’s role involves assisting, training and development of client understanding to make sure both buyer and seller have the skills needed to progress a sale. Suzi also manages and maintains systems within Winescape.
